This fun, hands-on class is designed especially for young artists who love variety, exploration, and getting a little messy. Each week features a different project using painting, drawing, cutting, gluing, building, and mixed media. Through process-based art, children develop fine motor skills, learn basic art concepts, and build creative confidence while making their own choices. There is no pressure for everyone’s artwork to look the same. Each child’s personality and unique style is encouraged and celebrated.
All materials are provided—just show up ready to create and have fun!
Drawing Class

Young artists explore the fun of drawing while building strong foundational skills. Students experiment with pencils, colored pencils, markers, oil pastels, soft pastels, and more while learning about line, shape, color, texture, shading, and proportion. Projects are inspired by each child’s interests and may include animated characters, princesses, animals, everyday objects, seasonal themes, famous artists, and more, giving students plenty of freedom to be creative and develop their own unique style.
Developing artists strengthen their drawing skills with a greater focus on realistic rendering and technique. Through interesting, age-appropriate subjects, students learn perspective, layout, proportion, value, shading, and texture. With one-on-one guidance, students explore a variety of techniques using pencils, colored pencils, markers, and more. Each student’s abilities are assessed individually, allowing for personalized instruction that challenges their skills while encouraging creative expression and the development of their own artistic style.

Advancing Artists I Approximately Ages 14 +
Advancing artists refine their technical skills while developing a more sophisticated and individual approach to art. Designed as a semi-private or private mentorship, this class offers a highly individualized curriculum based on each student’s goals, interests, and skill level. It is ideal for students who are serious about their art education, developing portfolios, or preparing to pursue art or design in college.
Watercolor Painting

Students explore the beauty of watercolor while building skills at their own individual level. Lessons build a strong foundation in watercolor, including color, value, shape, edges, water and brush control, layering, and transparency. Also learn essential techniques such as wet-on-wet, dry brush, washes, blending, layering, gradients, and more. Students work on individualized projects inspired by their own interests while learning color mixing, brush control, and how to create depth, light, and transparency.
Whenever possible, students also paint from life rather than only from photographs, using real objects such as fresh flowers and still life arrangements provided in class. Observing subjects firsthand helps students better understand light, shadow, color, form, and subtle details that can be difficult to see in a photograph.
Watercolor encourages young artists to slow down, observe, and become more intentional with each brushstroke while still having the freedom to experiment. Students are encouraged to take creative risks, learn from unexpected results, and develop their own artistic style through the unique way water and color interact.
Portrait & Character Drawing

Perfect for students who love anime and character design! Students learn the fundamentals of drawing anime-style characters, including facial features, expressions, hairstyles, body proportions, poses, clothing, and movement. Projects are inspired by each student’s interests and skill level, with individualized guidance to strengthen drawing skills while encouraging creativity and personal style.Students work with pencils, colored pencils, and markers, learning techniques for clean linework, shading, color, and details that bring their characters to life.
